Tara S. Abraham

Dr. Tara Abraham joined the Foxhall team in 2015.  She graduated from the University of Chicago.  Prior to completing her Medical Degree at the Loyola University of Chicago, she obtained a Master’s Degree of Public Health at Yale University.  She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baystate Medical Center/Tufts University.

Dr. Abraham’s practice is diverse.  She sees both obstetric and gynecologic patients and offers the full array of services.  Her particular areas of interest are minimally invasive surgery and high-risk obstetrics.   Dr. Abraham is instantly relatable and makes her patients feel at ease.  She is equally comfortable with a young girl’s first gynecologic examination or a complicated laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Abraham, a native of Boston, Massachusetts, lives in Virginia with her husband and two young sons. Her husband is a New Orleans native so she knows the meaning of “Laissez les bons temps rouler.” She enjoys travel, cooking and running.  Fun fact—Dr. Abraham loves posting adorable shots of her sons on Instagram.  Watch out Chrissy Teigen!

Richard J. Beckerman

Dr. Richard Beckerman joined Foxhall Ob/Gyn in 1990 and is literally the last man standing. He is the only male physician at Foxhall. Dr. Beckerman received his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin.  He completed a Master’s Degree in Physiology and his Medical Degree from Georgetown University.  He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from The George Washington University in 1990.  Dr. Beckerman is board certified by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Beckerman is currently the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sibley Memorial Hospital.   His practice includes the full array of obstetric and gynecologic services.  Dr. Beckerman holds the honor of having delivered more babies than any doctor at Foxhall!  His technical expertise, warm bedside manner and mischievous sense of humor have made him a Foxhall favorite.  He has consistently been named one of  Washingtonian Magazine’s “Best Doctors”.  He’s our very own Dr. McDreamy.

In his spare time, Dr. Beckerman enjoys spending time with his three adult children. Dr. Beckerman enjoys travel, golf and quality time with good friends.  Fun fact—Dr. Beckerman’s daughter, Dani, is the creator of ‘Jars by Dani,’ a successful novelty dessert business in New York.

Kathleen E. Bren

Dr. Bren is the newest member of our Foxhall team.  She joined Foxhall Ob/Gyn in 2019.  Dr. Bren received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and her medical degree from The George Washington University.  She completed her residency from Georgetown University/Washington Hospital Center in 2019.

Dr. Bren’s practice will include all areas of obstetrics and gynecology.  She has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and urinary issues in women. She is an extremely accomplished doctor who took top honors at her residency awards program at Washington Hospital Center.  She is looking forward to meeting the Foxhall family of patients and is eager to bring fresh and innovative ideas to all of us.

Although Dr. Bren is new to our practice, in many ways she has been with us all the time.  Dr. Bren has been affiliated with Foxhall her entire life.  Fun fact– She was delivered by none other than our senior partner, Dr. Marilyn Jerome.  Welcome home, Dr. Bren.

Shawn Davis

Dr. Davis joined Foxhall in 2015.  She completed her undergraduate studies at Harvard University.  Before attending medical school, Dr. Davis completed a Master’s of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University in Maternal and Child Health.  She received her Medical Degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Southwestern, Parkland Memorial Hospital.  She is board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Davis’ practice includes the complete spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology.  She sees patients of all ages and has a particular interest in contraceptive counseling and high-risk obstetrics.  Her approach to patient care is both individualized and also consistent with the most up to date innovations in medicine.  Dr. Davis truly considers herself a partner in the healthcare journey of her patients.

Dr. Davis is a native of Montgomery County, Texas and lives in Kensington, Maryland with her husband and three teenaged daughters.  While pursuing her MPH at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Davis analyzed the disparities in birth outcomes and the effect of chronic diseases on black and white women.  Way to go Dr. Davis for understanding and writing about these healthcare disparities and bringing this expertise to Foxhall! Fun fact—Dr. Davis loves to sing.

Shannon B. Green

Dr. Shannon Becker Green joined Foxhall Ob/Gyn in 2011.  She received both her undergraduate and medical degrees from Georgetown University.  She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at The George Washington University in 2011.  Dr. Green is board certified by The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Certified Menopause Practitioner.

Dr. Green’s practice encompasses the full spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology.  She sees patients of all ages with a particular interest in contraceptive counseling, minimally invasive surgery and high risk obstetrics.  She has been consistently named one of Washingtonian Magazine’s “Best Doctors.”

Dr. Green is a native of Kansas City, Missouri.   She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and three young daughters.  Dr. Green is an avid exercise enthusiast and not surprisingly, a devoted fan of the Georgetown Hoyas.  She proudly serves on the Board of Governors at Georgetown University as well as the Young Professionals Board at Sibley Memorial Hospital.  She feels passionate about building relationships, both at home and in the community!

Marilyn C. Jerome

Dr. Marilyn Jerome joined Foxhall Ob/Gyn in 1982.  She was the first female physician hired into our practice.  When she started the partners were concerned about whether or not the patients would take to seeing “the lady doctor.”  Now Dr. Jerome is one of nine women physicians at Foxhall.    Dr. Jerome completed her undergraduate studies  Xavier University of Ohio and received her Medical Degree from the University of Cincinnati.  She did her residency training at The George Washington University.  She is board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Certified Menopause Practitioner.

Dr. Jerome is not just the senior partner at Foxhall, she is the heart and soul of our practice and our only link to the original Foxhall traditions.  Dr. Jerome’s practice is now gynecology only, but she continues to see patients of all ages.  Her strengths lie in her sound clinical judgment and her expert surgical skills.  Her patients love her down to earth approach and her empathetic presence.  Dr. Jerome has consistently been named one of “Washingtonian’s Best Doctors.”

Dr. Jerome is a native of Cleveland, Ohio but has made Northern Virginia her home.  She and her husband have two adult sons, a new daughter-in-law and two grand-dogs.  She is active with many civic and charitable organizations.  Dr. Jerome enjoys gardening, hiking and cooking.  Fun fact—Dr. Jerome can make dinner for over a hundred people and do beautiful flower arrangements!  Seriously.  No caterer, all from scratch.  Now if that doesn’t impress you with her organizational skills, nothing will.

Lynne J. Lightfoote

Dr. Lynne Lightfoote joined Foxhall Ob/Gyn in 2005.  She completed her undergraduate studies from Wellesley College. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Virginia and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Dr. Lightfoote is board certified by The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Lightfoote’s practice encompasses the full spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology.  Her goal is to provide personalized care from adolescence, fertility, pregnancy, menopause and beyond.  Her practice style is warm, friendly and compassionate.  Her infectious laugh draws patients in and makes them feel comfortable and at ease.  Her thoroughness and dedication make her patients feel more like friends and family than anonymous clients.  Dr. Lightfoote has consistently been named as one of “Washingtonian’s Best Doctors. “

Dr. Lightfoote is a rare find—she is a native Washingtonian.  Dr. Lightfoote also has the distinction of being the first Foxhall doctor who was actually delivered by Foxhall Ob/Gyn!  So technically she has been affiliated with Foxhall Ob/Gyn the longest of any of our doctors.  She is active in her community through numerous civic and charitable organizations.  Her interests include travel, shopping and tennis.  Another fun fact about Dr. Lightfoote—she was a member of acapella singing groups at both Wellesley and the University of Virginia.  Needless to say, she is a big fan of karaoke.

Sharon D. Malone

Dr. Sharon Malone joined Foxhall Ob/Gyn in 1992.  She graduated from Harvard University in 1981. Prior to attending medical school, she worked for IBM as a Systems Engineer.  She received her Medical Degree from Columbia University College of Physician and Surgeons and completed her residency at The George Washington University.  She is board certified by The American College of Obstetric and Gynecology and is a Certified Menopause Practitioner.

Dr. Malone practices gynecology exclusively but continues to see patients of all ages.  This shift in her practice allows her to focus on her areas of special interest which include adolescent health, peri- and post-menopausal issues and sexual health.  These transitional periods in a woman’s life are fraught with profound physical as well as emotional changes.  Whether it’s preparing to leave for college, preparing to start a family or becoming an empty nester, Dr. Malone offers her expert advice on how to navigate these new life challenges.  Dr. Malone has consistently been named of the Washingtonian Magazine’s “Best Doctors.”

Dr. Malone is a native of Mobile, Alabama but has found her true home in Washington, D.C.  She and her husband of thirty years have three adult children.  Dr. Malone is an avid reader, a lover old school R&B, jazz and Brazilian music and a budding genealogist.  Fun fact– In her next life, she would like to return as a jazz pianist.

Lauren B. Messinger

Dr. Lauren Messinger joined Foxhall Ob/Gyn in 2016.  She graudated from Furman University.  Before attending medical school, Dr. Messinger worked at the National Cancer Institute as a Research Training Fellow.  She earned her Medical Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.  She is board certified by The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Messinger provides full service obstetrical and gynecologic care.  Her areas of interest include adolescent gynecology, fertility evaluation, contraceptive care and general obstetric care.  Her goal is to build trusting relationships with her patients and deliver high quality medical care that aligns with a patient’s values and health needs.

Dr. Messinger lives in the District with her husband, son, and basset hound.  Outside of the office, she enjoys travel, personal fitness, and devotes time to a non-profit dedicated to global education regarding maternal health and safe deliveries.  Fun fact: Lauren’s favorite season is fall when she can watch college football and cheer on her hometown team, the Tennessee Volunteers.

Nichole A. Pardo

Dr. Nichole Pardo joined Foxhall Ob/Gyn in 2007.  Dr. Pardo completed her undergraduate studies at Trinity College and received a Master’s Degree in Medical Science from Boston University.  She received her Medical Degree from the Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Pardo did her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Walter Reed Army and National Naval Medical Center.  She is board certified by The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Certified Menopause Practitioner.

Dr. Pardo’s practice includes all areas of obstetrics and gynecology.  She sees patients of all ages and in all stages of reproductive life from puberty to menopause.  Her particular areas of interest are high-risk obstetrics and minimally invasive surgery.  Dr. Pardo’s no-nonsense approach coupled with her compassionate and reassuring bedside manner is much appreciated by her patients.   She has consistently been named one of “Washingtonian’s Best Doctors.”

Dr.  Pardo is a native of Long Island, New York and presently resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband and daughter.  She enjoys travel, cooking and quality time with her daughter.  Dr. Pardo served in the 28th Combat Support Hospital during Operation Enduring Freedom.  Dr. Pardo, we thank you for your service.
